GardenLab @ 510

| The GardenLab@510
Site-specific Installation | 20'w x 90'd lot | 2011-ongoing

The GardenLab@510 is the second in a series of public art garden installations along Sampsonia Way in Pittsburgh’s North Side neighborhood. Planting beds and boxes have been constructed from salvaged lumber, galvanized poles, and spent garden hose. A gourd house installation is under construction in the back of the lot. Long handled gourds will be grown inside a 9 foot tall structure constructed from cut tree limbs and trunks. A restrictive growing experiment will be conducted on some of the gourd fruits to create mishapened gourds as a metaphorical comment on abuses humans inflict upon other humans and on the natural world.
